Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Overview

INTcoin is open-source software developed by the INTcoin Core Developers. This privacy policy covers the INTcoin website (international-coin.org), the block explorer, the testnet faucet, and the INTcoin wallet software.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. INTcoin is designed with privacy as a core principle — the software supports Tor and I2P anonymous networking, and the wallet stores all data locally on your device.

2. Website (international-coin.org)

What we collect: Standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp). These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security monitoring and are then deleted.

What we don't collect: We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services (Google Analytics, etc.), advertising networks, or any third-party data collection tools. We do not sell, share, or monetise visitor data.

Third-party content: The website loads data from the GitHub API (api.github.com) to display release versions, test counts, and the roadmap. GitHub's privacy policy applies to those requests.

3. Block Explorer

The block explorer (explorer.international-coin.org) displays publicly available blockchain data. All transaction and address information shown is already part of the public INTcoin blockchain.

The explorer server logs access requests with the same retention policy as the website (30 days). The explorer is also available over Tor and I2P for anonymous access.

4. Testnet Faucet

The testnet faucet records your IP address and the receiving address for rate-limiting purposes (one request per IP per 24 hours). This data is stored in memory only and is not persisted to disk — it is lost on server restart. Testnet coins have no monetary value.

5. Wallet Software

Local-only storage: The INTcoin wallet stores all data (private keys, transaction history, addresses, settings) locally on your device. No wallet data is transmitted to INTcoin servers.

Network connections: The wallet connects to the INTcoin P2P network to synchronise the blockchain. Your IP address is visible to peers you connect to, unless you use Tor or I2P (configurable in Settings).

Update checks: The standalone wallet checks international-coin.org/api/version.json on startup to notify you of new versions. This request includes your wallet version in the User-Agent header. No other data is transmitted. You can disable this in Settings.

DNS seeds: On first launch, the wallet queries DNS seed servers (uk/eu/us.international-coin.org) to discover peers. These DNS queries are standard and handled by your system's DNS resolver.

6. Tor and I2P

INTcoin supports Tor and I2P for anonymous P2P connections. When configured, your IP address is not visible to the peers you connect to. The block explorer and faucet are also accessible over Tor (.onion) and I2P (.b32.i2p) addresses listed on the website.

7. Data Retention

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
