1. Data Controller
The data controller for personal data processed through international-coin.org and all its subdomains (including talk.international-coin.org, faucet.international-coin.org, explorer.international-coin.org, and signet.international-coin.org) is:

2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Main Website (international-coin.org)
Data collected: Standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp).
Lawful basis: Legitimate interest (security monitoring and abuse prevention).
Cookies: The main website does not set any cookies.
Third-party requests: The website loads data from the GitLab API (gitlab.com/api/v4) to display release information, version numbers, and CI status. GitLab's own privacy policy applies to those requests.
2.2 Community Forum (talk.international-coin.org)
The forum is powered by Discourse and requires registration to post. When you create an account, we collect and store:
- Email address — required for registration, account recovery, and notifications
- Password — stored as a bcrypt hash (we never store or see your plaintext password)
- Username and profile information — publicly visible on your posts
- IP address — logged on registration, login, and when posting
- Posts and private messages — stored in the forum database
- Login timestamps — for security and account activity
Lawful basis: Contract (providing the forum service you registered for) and legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention).
Cookies: The forum sets the following cookies:

These cookies are essential for the forum to function. Without them, you cannot log in or maintain a session. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on the forum.
2.3 Block Explorer (explorer.international-coin.org)
The block explorer displays publicly available blockchain data. All transaction and address information shown is already part of the public INTcoin blockchain.
Data collected: Standard web server access logs (same as main website).
Cookies: The block explorer does not set any cookies.
The explorer is also available over Tor and I2P for anonymous access.
2.4 Testnet Faucet (faucet.international-coin.org)
The testnet faucet records your IP address and the receiving wallet address for rate-limiting purposes (one request per IP per 24 hours). This data is stored in server memory only and is not persisted to disk — it is lost on server restart.
Lawful basis: Legitimate interest (preventing abuse of the faucet service).
Testnet coins have no monetary value.
2.5 Wallet Software
Local-only storage: The INTcoin wallet stores all data (private keys, transaction history, addresses, settings) locally on your device. No wallet data is transmitted to INTcoin servers.
Network connections: The wallet connects to the INTcoin P2P network to synchronise the blockchain. Your IP address is visible to peers you connect to, unless you use Tor or I2P (configurable in Settings).
Update checks: The wallet checks international-coin.org/api/version.json on startup to notify you of new versions. This request includes your wallet version in the User-Agent header. No other data is transmitted. You can disable this in Settings.
DNS seeds: On first launch, the wallet queries DNS seed servers to discover peers. These are standard DNS queries handled by your system's DNS resolver.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect solely for:
- Providing and maintaining our services (forum, faucet, explorer)
- Security monitoring and abuse prevention
- Responding to your enquiries or support requests
We do not:
- Sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
- Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
- Use analytics services (Google Analytics, etc.) or tracking pixels
- Profile users or make automated decisions based on your data

5. Data Security
We take appropriate technical measures to protect your personal data:
- All connections to our services are encrypted via TLS (HTTPS)
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage (never stored in plaintext)
- Server access is restricted and protected by SSH key authentication
- Servers run automatic security updates (unattended-upgrades)
- Firewall rules restrict access to necessary ports only
- Services are accessible over Tor and I2P for users who require anonymity
6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data (including your forum account and all associated posts)
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

7. Cookies
Most of our services do not use cookies. The only subdomain that sets cookies is the community forum (talk.international-coin.org), as described in section 2.2 above.
Forum cookies are strictly essential for authentication and session management. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or non-essential cookies on any part of our website.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies will prevent you from logging into the forum.
8. International Transfers
Our servers are located in the United Kingdom and European Union. If you access our services from outside these regions, your data will be transferred to and processed in the UK/EU. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the UK/EU.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. For significant changes, we will post a notice on the forum.
